Frequently asked questions about Registercheck’s data coverage and availability.

What kind of data do you generally provide?

Above all, we provide company data on all German companies. In addition, we also provide data on all natural persons who participate in business life in connection with companies in Germany. On this page you can find out exactly what data we provide, depending on the legal form etc.

How up-to-date is the company data?

There may be a delay between when changes are made in the official german business register (Handelsregister) and when they appear in Registercheck. This is because:

  • The downtime due to maintenance work or other causes of business registers
  • The time it takes to process and validate the data can vary

We strive to minimize these delays and are continuously working to improve our data freshness.

Which types of companies are covered?

We support all types of registered companies in Germany, including:

  • GmbH (Limited Liability Company)
  • UG (haftungsgeschärnkt) (Entrepreneurial Company)
  • AG (Stock Corporation)
  • eGbR (Registered Civil Law Partnership)
  • e.K. (Registered Merchant)
  • e.V. (Registered Association)
  • GmbH & Co. KG (Limited Partnerships with GmbH as general partner) as well as other legal entities as general partner

  • OHG (General Partnership)
  • PartG (Partnership Company)

Shareholder / Shareholding Information Availability

While we support all the above company types, shareholder information is currently available for:

  • GmbH (Limited Liability Company)
  • UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (Entrepreneurial Company)
  • eGbR (Registered Civil Law Partnership)
  • KG (Limited Partnership)
  • GmbH & Co. KG (Limited Partnership with GmbH as general partner) as well as other legal entities as general partner

For other company types, we can provide basic company information but detailed shareholder structures may not be available.

Every company, even if we do not have shareholder data for this legal form ourselves, can have shareholdings if the respective shareholdings are in the legal form that we support with shareholder data.

Please note that availability, especially contact details, may vary due to work in progress.

Why might a company not appear in the database?

There are several reasons why a company might not be found in our database:

  • Recent Registration: If the company was recently registered, it may not have been included in our latest data crawl
    • We normally add newly incorporated companies no later than 24 hours after their publication in the company register
  • Recent renaming: If the company has recently changed its name
    • We generally update the name no later than 24 hours after the entry was made in the business register
  • Recent change of legal form/register: If the company has recently changed its legal form or moved into a register of a different register court
    • We generally update such changes no later than 48 hours after the entry was made in the business register
  • Data Processing: Some entries may require additional validation or processing before being added to our database

Please also check the spelling of the company name in the case you can’t find no matching results. You can also contact us at: support@registercheck.de to report missing companies

Do you also have data on natural persons?

Yes, any natural person who is or was in a management position and/or shareholder/limited partner can be found in our database.

The data on natural persons include:

  • Name
  • Birthday
  • Place of business residence
  • Management Positions (compare to management data on company level)
  • Shareholdings
  • E-Mail (WIP)
  • Phonenumber (WIP)
  • Social Media urls (WIP)
  • Website url (WIP)
  • Profile picture url (WIP)

Occasionally, due to individual protection interests, the profiles of individual persons may be blocked or cannot be found. The data is collected and stored in accordance with the GDPR.

The updating of the profiles of natural persons is based on the updating of the companies.

What’s next?

We are actively working on:

  • Expanding shareholder information coverage to additional company types
  • Reducing the delay between official register updates and our database
  • Improving data quality and validation processes

The register and company information provided as part of this “Registercheck” service (a service from Deepsearch GmbH) is aggregated from freely accessible, public sources, among others. Despite careful automated collection and regular updating, Deepsearch GmbH gives no guarantee for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the data presented.

All further regulations on liability, warranty and terms of use can be found in our General Terms and Conditions (GTC), which are an integral part of this service. Users are advised to verify critical information independently or with the relevant authorities before making business decisions. Any liability is excluded or reduced to a minimum within the limits of the law.
